XBox 360 using Windows Media Center

I bought WinXP MCE today so I can stream movies, pictures and MP3's through to the 360 hooked up to the plasma/amp in the living room, from the PC in the spare room.

It was very easy to setup, but I've found that so far I'm getting lip-sync issues on video material, and lag on even moving the cursor around the screen.

I'm using a 3Com wireless hub connected to the 360 and it talks to the wireless 3com wireless adsl router/firewall in the spare room, which is in turn hooked up to the PC by ethernet. Both wireless devices are 802.11g capable, so i would have thought that would be fine. However in practise it's all a bit slow and rubbish.

Anyone else used the Media Centre Extender over wireless or ethernet? Did you experience similar speed issues even when movig the cursor around with the remote?

Just a quick update, I've found that signing out of XBox Live seems to free up some extra bandwidth, enough to make the lip sync negligable. In case anyone else comes across this I thought I'd post back and let people know.
