    RAM question

Anyway to tell what Ram I have in my PC with out yanking it out to read the label on the side? I think it's about time I added some more Ram to the 512mb DDR ram I?ve got when I put it together 2 years ago, and does it matter if its not the same type I already have in the machine unregistered/registered, PC2700,PC3100 etc, etc.

I have two different ram chips one is a ddr400 the other is a ddr333.

It works but i think both run at the speed of 333

The sisoft sandra 2004 program should be able to tell you what ram you have

Yeah, they will always run at the speed of the lowest chip.

It might be worth finding out what your motherboard is. No point buying PC3200 if your motherboard is limited to 333mhz (unless your an overclocker).

          PC2700 runs at 333Mhz.
Quite cheap now, should be able to get a single 512Mb for under ?30.

Or replace your existing RAM and get 2 x 512Mb PC2700 for under ?60. That'd make a difference. Always nice if you get paired RAM.
