Finding out a video cards make and model?

I'm going to be installing a fresh copy of xp on a friends machine and I've thought of a puzzling question...

Once xp is installed is there any way to find out the make and model of a graphics card without opening the case up and having a look?

Would it simply be a matter of running xp's search program? I've never tried it before as I've always known my cards details.

    Anyone?

go to system : device manager and it'll be under the display adapters.

You'll need to do this BEFORE you do the format

Boris just beat me to the punch

But XP should detect whatever card is in there automatically (at least it has every time I've changed mine)

that wont really tell you THAT much about the card

booting a livecd and typing lspci -vv would though
