U.K. xbox360 PSU question

where can I get my hands on a UK power supply unit for the xbox360? I should be getting an american console soon, but would prefer to get the UK psu rather than a step down converter, any ideas of where I can get one? If I contact Microsoft UK, would they just laugh at me?

Not sure, as I didn't try it myself (I ended up sticking with my sturdy step down).

However I did read somewhere else that someone was charged ?70 for a replacement power supply (not sure if that's right or not).

Yep, very OTT but like I say, that was second hand info on another site so it may have been rubbish.

?70 is pretty darn steep if it's true but I'd guess a 500w step-down (which I think you need for the 360) won't set you back all that much less by the time you add p&p.

A step-down also means you've got yet another heavy/bulky box to contend with.

Edit: saying that the 500w step-down linked to in this thread will set you back just over ?50 delivered.

so its 100% confirmed a uk psu will work on a jap or us 360 ? as always nintendo you could do this but didn't think the 360 was able to swap the leads

I think so. In another thread a member said that he has both a US & PAL machine and he's been running them both off of the PAL PSU.
