    Xbox Live DNS problems

This has been asked a million times I know, I'm almost afraid to ask. (I've looked through the forum and I still cant find an answer!)

I'm trying to setup my xbox 360 to go on live. I've got AOL broadband gold, the xbox can find the IP address, but it cant find the DNS setting.
I've got in touch with AOL and they told me I can find the DNS number by:
    1. Click the Start button and then on Run
    2. Type CMD and press ok
    3. Type IPCONFIG and press the Enter key on the keyboard
    4. Your IP Address will be contained in the list of information that comes up.
I do this and it comes up with a series of numbers under 2 headings:

Ethernet adapter Local area connection 2
    PPP adapter AOL

and then under those it lists

    IP address
    Subnet Mask
    Default gateway.

Each has a load of numbers next to each one. I've entered a combination of these manually into the DNS settings and still nothing.
    I'm tearing my hair out!

    Can anyone help?

the dns servers to use should be under ipconfig /all this will should give you all the info

you will get an address, i get 10.0.0.2 as this is my routers dchp/dns address

What you need is ipconfig /all which will give a much longer readout including whatever DNS servers you're using.

Alternatively you could give your ISP a call and they'll be able to tell you the best ones to use.
