    Broadband - which ISP?

My town is finally getting Broadband in August , but which ISP is best for online gaming (PS2 and PC)?

At the moment I use AOL, but it has proven unreliable and from what I've heard does not support the PS2 live service. Any ideas where I should turn?

The information and reviews/forums at ADSL Guide may help you make your decision.

I've been using BTOpenWorld for nearly two years, and rarely get problems. It can get slower at peak periods, but total outages have been a rare, nay freak occurance.

I'm on nildram. It's been great for 1 month. It's dropped once. The rest of the time it's been rock solid max speed, day or night.

I've been with Zen for somewhere around two months now and aside from a couple of problems with newsgroup access (from Zen's side of things, though quickly fixed), access has been fast and reliable.

I'd rather you stayed away though...

I've had Pipex for a while, they were quick to enable my line and I was up and running quite quickly. They had some downtime issues when they first launched, and for a few weekends the service was a bit patchy, but it's been trouble free for quite a while now. Their homepage is very good as they keep you up to date on the state of their network. I've had no trouble recommending them to others (as they're also quite cheap, about ?23.99 pm for 512/256 ADSL).

been with freeserve since a cheap as chips staff offer came up, never been any outages when I've been online an speeds been pretty spiffy all the time. Shame bout the USB modem tho u can get ethernet ones seperately for very little now. or a Router as I'd get if I had the money an wasn't goin to uni in a few months.
