Broken Virtua Racing (PAL / Megadrive) Cartridge

Very weird problem.

A friend of mine let me borrow a Virtua Racing cartridge for the megadrive, and apparently he tested it and it worked perfectly.

I tried it in my megadrive, and it gets up to the spinning Sega logo, then just goes to a black screen. Nothing happens from here.

I retried it on HIS megadrive and it does exactly the same thing. Nothing was damaged, and the contacts are clean.

Any ideas?

Make sure those contacts are really clean. I've had a few probs with my JP VF cart even though it looked clean.
You could also always open it up and check that nothing's buggering about with the chip in there, shorting something or whatever, might be fluff or ****e in there causing a problem.
