    At what point did Sega Genesis games become incompatable with UK Megadrives?

    I hear most early genesis games will work fine on a pal megadrive without any converter, but im pretty sure at some point a 'lockout' system was implemented. When did this happen ie which year? And what were the first games that wouldnt work in a standard uk megadrive? Thanks.
