Xbox 360 VGA cables

I'm having a hard time figuring out how these things work? could anyone explain to me. My pc monitor has a power input and then just a cable coming out which hooks up to the pc. For the VGA cables to work do you need to have a video input on your monitor?

Nah you just need a little adapter so you can plug the 360 Vga cable into your PCs Vga cable.

THe Official VGA cable comes with one, but the joytech one doesn't

but what about audio? my pc speaker are just headphone jack ones, the cable looks like it needs PROPER speakers. of which I have none

I had to buy a little adapter to make the red and white sockets into the headphone style jack. Got mine from B&Q (of all places) cost like ?3
