Japanese slim ps2 in Australia

Since Australia uses a different power system to Japan i assume i would have to get some kind of converter so that it doesn't blow up? They aren't just like cubes where i could swap power cables with my australian slim ps2 are they?

What type of converter would i have to get and are they very expensive?

You'd need a stepdown. I'm assuming your electricity is ~220V? I didn't check when I was over there

if its a slimline ps2 then the power supply is multivoltage so you dont need a stepdown just plug in the lead from your australian ps2 and it will work fine

yeah totally true

my Japanese console uses the uk figure of 8 lead which plugs into the power supply and it works a treat

same with the PSP
