    GC Cable quiery

Hi guys, i have just purchased a panasonic GC & wanted an rgb lead for it.
i got a spider rgb cable with it but it does not have a digital av out connection on it. So today i received a converted rgb component cable from anotherworld and it does not work. i get no picture/sound at all with it. i tryed it on my standard Jap GC and only got sound with it.

My tv is only 6 months old, it is a 32" w/s sony digital tv 50hz with an rgb scart connection.

Is it possible the lead could be faulty or that it is not converted. i am looking at the receipt and it says Jap RGB component cable (non-co!?
i was charged for the converted one.

Is it the lead? is it my telly? Please help people, ihave spent a lot of money on all of this!!

Listen to my reply with caution as I'm not at all a dedicated gamer or anything, I just liked the Panasonic Q!

Anyway, normal RGB cables like the spider one do not work. You seem to know this and you bought a modified cable from another world. Remember you need a modified Panasonic Q RGB cable, not any old import gamecube RGB cable. I got one which didn't work either, though it did work on the TV of the person who fixed it.
This person was a member called "saurian" who did an excellent job, and it now works perfectly. He can modify the cable from another world if it doesn't work, or just build a new one from scratch. (probably cheaper to just get him to have a look at the old one).
Hope that helped!! Remember it may be a hundred things other than the cable, ie your TV not accepting RGB, but if it's a recent TV it should be fine.

send a PM to 'saurian' for info.

Could be that they haven't modified the DAC chip to switch from Component to RGB on the D-Terminal Cable. Or there is no resistor linking the pins in the Scart cable to force RGB output from the lead.

Or they haven't used an official Nintendo Component lead for the Composite sync signal. This could be it as I used a standard N64 lead and it wouldn't work. I got a GC RGB Scart cable and all was cool.

Does your TV auto-switch to RGB with your other consoles?

You would be best to send it back to them telling them the problems you are having. They may be able to sort you a replacement. It may be the difference between asking for a GC lead and asking for a Q lead. They are assembled differently.

Or, if Saurian isn't too busy, he may look at it for you.
