Need help for Media Center & XBOX360

I try to setup my windows media center with my xbox360,but after I down load the software from www.xbox.com/pcsetup, XboxMCEFULL-ENU,
it says setup error----
A problem occurred during Setup. Pleaserun Setup again.If the problem persists, contact your computer manufacturer for assistance.

I cannot finish the installing. I tried many times, and reinstall my system 2 times... but still not working.

can anyone give me some help please!

I had a similar problem I think, messed around with firewall settings and eventually got it working. Sorry I can't be more specific, can't remember exactly what I did.

I have AVG, not sure if it affects it, but I've tried both Media Centre installations, and they both fail. Once it got into the big blue screen for linking up Media Centre through the PC, but hung for ages. I've tried since and it comes up with an error, asks me to debug it or not, and that's it really.

guys, I found out by myself, thanks for your help anyway
first, you need to update the your windows media( 2 majar update)
after that, everything works fine

Instead of starting another topic i will ask here. I have Windows XP, Service pack 2 and Windows Media Connect. Now i set everything up, as said on the xbox website. Now this is the problem, Windows Media Connect on the PC finds the 360, however the 360 does not reconigse the pc. Why is this? Please help as its very frustrating. Thanks!

you need to enter the number xbox360 give it to you. also, you have to live the xbox360 in the install menu.

for update, if you have the org windows media center, update from the MS web,
if you have an copy, you have to use some software to get the cd-key for the system and renew it on line, after that, you can have the update.

there are to majar update
WindowsXPMediaCenter2005-KB873369 first
WindowsXPMediaCenter2005-KB900325 after you install the first one this one will work.
