Ever since the original playstation, all the consoles I've bough have been US versions. However having recently bought an HDTV, the whole PAL / NTSC thing is no longer an issue. The thing holding me back from a UK 360 is the backwards compatibility. Would love to play Halo 1 in hidef but I have an NTSC copy of the game. Sure I could get a UK copy cheap now, but the speed / framerate is borked and apparently not fixed by the 360 patch. Also some great games take an age to arrive here (Psychonauts being the prime recent example).
Could walk into Argos tomorrow and pick one up, but sourcing a US machine not in a massive bundle is impossible right now! What to do?
