    Yesasia question

I ordered the DS lite from there and from what I recall nothing was weird about the process, I used a shipping address different to my billing address but that's it. I got an email saying the order was on hold:

Thank you for shopping at YesAsia.com.

Your order xxx has temporarily been placed on hold as our credit card processor was unable to verify the billing address registered in your shopper profile.

To ensure that you are the rightful cardholder and to protect you from any unauthorized use of your credit card, kindly provide us with one of the following information at your earliest convenience:
A copy of the front and back image of your credit card. (Please black-out the signature area for your own protection); OR
A copy of your most recent credit card statement, that must clearly show the credit card number, the cardholder name and the billing address.
Please send either of the above mentioned documents to our Accounting Department via fax at (852) 2742-8515 or by email ([email protected]), clearly indicating your order number for reference.

Upon receipt of your communication, your order will be immediately processed.

If you have received this message in error or have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our Accounting Department by email. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Has anyone come across this before? How safe am I to take a photo of my card and email it to them? I've just not come across anything like this before so I'm not too sre about it.

    Anyone else had this?

They did this to me aswell, when i first ordered a PSP off them, i sent a photo of my credit card and haven't had any thing bad happen. They seem to do this the first time you place an order over a certain amountof dollars.

that's the problem. YA is VERY careful with sending orders payed through CC to address different than the cardholder's address. Happened to a friend of mine as well last year. She tired to order something and have it shipped to me and that didn't work out. Though, if I recall correctly she could mail in a copy of her electricity/gas statement.

In the end they have your credit card information already. Atleast the head of the financial department has it.

Regardless, caution is always wise. You can forward the mail to YA and ask them to confirm if this e-mail is actually from them.

you need to have the item shipped to the address the credit card is registered to. i've never had to send them my credit card proof yet as i've only bought games from them. they must have a limit for first time orders probably $200 and cause its a high value item

yesasia is good as i've used them many times so you dont need to worry

just send them your credit card statement and block out some numbers

I sent them a photo of my card, the DS lite was only $199 but it was my first order with them, perhaps that's why. Thanks for all the advice

I get this email occassionally when withdrawing from online casinos. As has been suggested i just black out all but the last 4 numbers and then send them that. Remember email is very unsecure so sending a vanilla photo of the card could be dangerous ...
