    High res monitor?

I'm looking to buy a new monitor soon and the Samsung Syncmaster 204B has caught my eye. The monitor has eveything I want, high response time, good contrast, it's 20.1" and it can pivot 90 degrees so I can play my Dreamcast shooters in TATE mode. The only thing I'm worried about is the high res ironically. I understand that LCD's only look good in their native res which would be 1600x1200 but wouldn't that make everything too small? Or am I wrong in assuming it wouldn't look good in 1280x1024?

I'm used to 1280x1024 and while the screen is 20.1" as opposed to the 19" I'm used to I'm still worried. I won't be able to test it myself because no stores in my area have the monitor in store and I'll be buying it online.

So if anyone has experience with using a monitor of this size at that resolution could give me some impressions I'd be most grateful.

I can only speak from limited experience but i have a iiyama 19" monitor E483S with a response time of 12ms and dc games look awful on it. Naturally low res games such as 2d fighters have pixellated sprites in vga mode but using a tft they looked absolutly dreadful, all washed out. Even games like ikaruga and zero gunner which look divine in vga mode didnt look as sharp as they did my crt of comparable size. And i'm sure i detected a hint of ghosting but can't be sure.

My advice get hold of a massive crt for cheap and just turn it on its size, no way near as pretty but you'll get better results at far cheaper price

The main thing about the Syncmaster screens is their support for interlaced resolutions. Does anyone know of a CRT which also supports this?

Sorry I didn't make myself more clear, I didn't ask solely for the Dreamcast games, also for normal use like internet etc. The DC games are only a bonus, because I will have my old CRT I could use for DC games if they don't look good on the LCD.
