Stiff dreamcast stick

Hi,

I have a very stiff dreamcast stick. Its only after I do a 360 motion on the stick that it loosens up, but as soon as its returned to its original position its all stiff again. Is there anything I can do?

Aye. Take it apart and look to see if there is anything in the way before you start any motion with the stick, or if anything looks out of the ordinary. Mind you remember where everything goes when you put it back together again though, but it isn't rocket science and everything has its own place really. You can't really go wrong unless you lose any bits while it's apart.

Other than that, erm, don't know. Sorry.

To loosen off the stick you need to cut the spring inside the joystick unit shorter until it's to your liking. I prefer not to have to use any kind of pressure to move the stick so I have VERY little resistance on mine.

Thats exactly what I want but I dont know where the springs are! I did try looking...

There's only one spring and you cant miss it!

Yeah I found it last night >_<. I might as well have removed the spring its that loose. It feels wicked but doesnt return to its normal position quick enough!
