PS2 Slide Card & Swap Magic Queries

    Hi,

I wanted to get Kingdom Hearts 2 when it comes out in America and was thinking of getting this slide card & swap magic combo, but I have some issues about it:

    1. Does the Swap Magic transfer the screen to PAL 60Hz like the Freeloader does for the Gamecube or does it keep it at NTSC 60Hz?

    2. If it does keep it at NTSC 60Hz, is there a way of changing the screen from black and white to colour cause my telly does support 60Hz but testing it with a PAL version of Shadow The Hedgehog and Guilty Gear X2 in NTSC 60Hz does that to it?

    3. I know I've heard of NTSC to PAL 60Hz and NTSC RGB cables but where are the best places to look for them?

    4. Finally, I've heard of these dual-layered and disc size issues it has. Does anyone know whether Kingdom Hearts 2 will work with the Swap Magic?

    Thanks.

    1. The game is NTSC, it'll run in NTSC.

    2. RGB cable

    3. Play sell Joytech RGB leads for ?6.99, they're ace.

    4. There's no guarantee. There are some folk playing over on rllmuk, you could ask there if the disc is a DVD-9. Although, even then it is not a guarantee that they won't later change the disc format anyway. Best wait, say, a week or two after launch and get some feedback if you're uncertain?

How can you tell what the disc size is of a game overall and do those Joytech RGB cables really work in converting NTSC into PAL?

The size of the disc, I'd image

An RGB cable doesn't convert anything, it is just an RGB signal which your TV natively understands. No NTSC OR PAL colour information, just good ol' red, green and blue
