    Netgear FS605UK 5-Port Ethernet Switch

Does anyone know if I can connect both an Xbox and an Xbox 360 to my combined modem/router via this.

My modem/router has a USB out to my PC and a single ethernet out to my Xbox/Xbox360. If I could plug the ethernet cable that currently runs to my Xbox/Xbox 360 into this and then run two ethernet cables out one to each Xbox, it would save a lot of trouble messing around the back changing cables.

Yes, that will do exactly what you need. That'll basically add either five or eight ethernet ports to your router and let you connect that many devices to it, which I'm sure will come in handy with this generation of consoles.

Just a bumb to let anyone who was interested know that it 100% works. Should have been delivered on Monday but I was out and today's the earliest I could get hold of it. Anyway it took all of two minutes to set up and now I can play online on xbox or 360 without the hassle of changing the ethernet cable all the time.

I know there are probably plenty of routers that I could have bought that could have done the same thing wirelessly but for anyone who's happy to keep the wires for a while longer and is fed up of switching the cable I heartily recommend a purchase, they're available for less than ?20 from Amazon.
