usb wifi thingies for ds

Having had nowt but hassle with my belkinF5D7230uk4 wireless cable/dsl router (works great for xbox/xbox360/psp/ps2) but wont work at all with my ds so cant play MK or AC online , im gonna go to town tomorrow and get a usb wifi thing, will these be as effective as a router? and will i have any problem setting it up, ie will it conflicy with router and do i have to learn about this internet sharing rubbish?

I have a wired Belkin router and Cable & Wireless USB dongle for DS & PSP, set up was easy and the two don't conflict, guess it's the same with a wireless router ?

You know which USB dongle's work with the DS yeah.

Nice 1, ive reserved one for pick up tomorrow at our local argos so hopefully tomorrow i can actualy play online with MK and AC

if you search this section you'll find how to get that router working with your ds

you'll have to download a tool and run it at the same time though

I have the same router and with the hack it works fine with the DS, I wish belkin would hurry up and update the firmware though

I had a wireless router which wasnt compatible.

Bought an official wi fi adapter and it caused major conflicts with the internet connection on the PC that it was installed on.

The 'fix' was to sell both on ebay and buy a Netgear DG834G - widely considered the one of the best wireless routers around, highly acclaimed on these boards and instantly compatible with the DS - I didnt even have to change the DS settings.

setting an IP for your ds is very easy and just takes going into your ds games wifi settings

Not that I'm expecting you to have any trouble, but if you do, the Argos 14-day returns thing means you can get your money back easily.

Lucky you, I got one of those C&W dongles and could never get the bugger to work. Would see the ds briefly and then just drop it. I gave up in the end...

That said I may not have set it up properly but f@ck knows...
