Soul Calibur 2 - What am I meant to be doing?

    Hey folks.

Been playing Soul Calibur 2 alot lately, and I was wondering. How the hell do I unlock the characters? I've completed Arcade with like 5 characters and i've only unlocked 1!

Also, is there a guide anywhere for the Weapns Master, as I have no clue as to what i'm meant to be doing. So I feel like i'm missing out on a big part of the game.

    Cheers.

You must play the weapon master to unlock the characters. Sadly, to actually get all the characters isn?t very hard and will not take you a long time. The weapon master mode isn?t too difficult to figure out either. Most of them are pretty straightforward. If you are finding urself stuck, use trial and error. The most complicated task you will face is hitting an opponent in the air and attacking them on their fall. Apart from that the majority are destroying ur enemy.

Have you beaten the first stage yet? If you are finding that one difficult, all it is asking you to do is perform practically all the different functions of the characters, such as vertical slash, hold, deflect, etc etc.

Weapon Master mode is where you can unlock practically all the goodies, sadly u are missing out greatly not playing through it. Did you play the original SC on the Dreamcast? If you did the tasks in SC2 are really no different. The only main difference is the Dungeons, however all u have you do here is repeatedly kill the opponents until u get to the end of the Dungeon (this is the Weapn Master?s lowest part imo)

Well, hope that helps a little.

    Kind regards

I believe you can get a demonstration of what you're meant to be doing on each stage of weapons master. That'll probably be a big help, because at least you can see what move needs to be done.

        Hi there!

The following LINK will take you to the Xbox Weapon master mode. I have the GC version and it helped me complete it. Hope this helps.

Hi there Mr Pint, can you really? I never know that. Do you know how to view this option as it would be interesting to see how many of the events should be done. Thanks in advance buddy.

Also another Q: (it seems silly to make a new thread while there is a this one going...) Does actually completing all the tasks do something or unlock something? No harm if not, it is just, i have completed all of them aside one Dungeon and i cant find the heart to complete it. If there is some sort of reward for doing them all then i shall at once, but if not.... it can wait until a cold sundays evening i think. Thanks again

          Kind regards

Completing the story mode once unlocks a whole set of new harder challeneges for each stage. Completing some of these unlocks new chapters of the story that weren't there in the first play through.

              Hey folks.

I've finally cracked it, I was just stuck on the first stage. But after that, it's pretty straight forward.

I'm now on Chapter 8, and my favourite character is on level 22. I'm stuck on a level where you are surrounded by a cage. And The guys health won't go down. I've tried hitting him against the cage but that doesn't work either. I got it down by doing something, but I can't remember!

              Any ideas?

Try juggling him in the air. That's the only way to do it, I think. In the second version, the harder one you have to hit him against the wall. Switch a character with a good juggle move like Talim! My jailbait girl!

                  Hey, you're pretty good!

This game is amazing, it's really addictive! I think i've preferred playing it in Japanese, as it's harder, and in a way, more mysterious...

I'm now on the second set of missions, which are a hell of alot harder.

I've noticed my character has 3 more weapons that are better than the one I have right now. How do i get them? None of the shops have them for sale!

You'll get a lot more place to fight, thus more shops so a few will be bought there. However, some you have to win.

Thanks 007 my pleasure. I plodding through the second set right now and I noticed that playing as Lizardman sucks. I got about a 1/3 of them done. Some of the characters have 3p costumes too.

Beat Extra Arcade to open up Extra Versus
Ever character you beat arcade mode with have a profile that you can access.
That's about it, and play it now so you'll have more time for Evo when that hits.

Side note, and this fighting game fan's opinion. SC2 training mode sucks.
And I completely agree about it being better in Japanese, it still retains some of its charm. I'm not even buying the US one.
