Weirdness regarding file transfer on Xbox

I cant transfer any files beginning later than the letter S to my Xbox, I'm useless with this stuff >_<

Is there something I should know regarding this? For example I can transfer all my SNES ROMS to the correct folder but it always stops at Sparkster and says there is no space available (but there's LOADS left) - same with CPS1 ROMS, it wont transfer Varth.

I'm using the Boxplorer on EVO X, Xecutor V1, standard retail HDD on a V1 XBOX.

The filename might be too long perhaps - I think there's a limit of 42 characters for filenames. Wouldn't have thought Sparkster would be longer than that though

Or perhaps the filename has a weird character in it that it doesn't like

I've tried that man - even simple things like Yoshicookie.zip wont transfer. Yet everything up to S is fine even seikendensetsu3ENG.smc

Weirdness - I tend to transfer stuff over FTP rather than boXplorer ..

Could be a bad burn/disc problem I guess

Saur use a different FTP program - similar thing happened to me using FlashFXP, I switched to WS-FTP and it transferred fine.

It could be that the drive is having trouble reading the disk, and happens to read files off alphabetically.

There are various explanations for this problem but I don't really know which is correct. I tend to FTP things over myself, its a lot easier. Anyway possible explanations I've heard are:

                    1. File name size - there is a 42 character limit including the extension. I know you can use "Aa - Zz", "0 - 9", "( )", and "_". A dash (-) doesn't work and nor do others e.g. commas.

                    2. If you have a new HDD the jumpers must be set to master.

Try the FTP method if you can, It's the most reliable way, but if you are stuck, how about renaming the files with a . or something before their first letter? not ideal I know

i swear they fixed this bug in the last (and probably final) release of boxplorer. best thing reinstall it.
