Edited attachment in hotmail, now where is it?

I've opened an attachment i sent to myself in hotmail, edited it, saved it and then shut down the computer. About 10 seconds later I realised that I should have saved the attachment first. Will this file still be on the computer? If so, where?

Probably in My Documents, if not;

Try going to start menu, documents, it should be listed there, you can just click on it to open it, then save it where you wish.

Or if you know the filename use the search for file option again found from the start menu.

Did a search, all i could find was a shortcut to where it once was in the temporary internet files, file itself was gone. Was on uni computers, so dunno if they clean out data every time you log off or something. Still, a lesson learned - hadn't made thaat many changes anyway.
