In preparation for the release of SC2 (xbox) I'm looking for some nice arcade sticks. I know hori do some nice sticks (obviously i'd need a magic box to hook up to the xbox)

http://www.xgaming.co.uk have a nice looking arcade stick, reviews of them seem to sing nothing but praise.

Anyone used one? Worth considering, or is it hori and magic box all the way?

The X-Arcade is awful and not suited to Soul Calibur.

Hori have released an Xbox specific stick, it's wicked - I use it on everything from Streetfighter to Gigawing and it's all good.

Tokuda on this forum can sort you out an import.

Mate, nobody here likes the X-Arcade for various reasons - I've never used one so can't comment though.

Hori do an XBox stick in Japan though - a few peeps here have one & it's supposed to be pretty good - it's this one here - click

Whereas quite a lot of people I know have X-Arcades and like them (after a bit of tinkering with the sticks). Then again they are mainly playing retro and old-skool fighting titles with it...

For a modern game where ease of execution and accuracy are important - this type of stick is worthless. This style of arcade stick is used by arcade operators too cheap and lazy to sort out decent setup - they are utter garbage.

They've probably never used a decent stick before.

Anyway, yeah -- it's crap. The buttons are awful, the sticks feel horrid, and button placement is ****, it's needlessly heavy... etc etc etc.

Hmmm, i wonder where I would get this 'Final Burn'. Do I need to mod my xbox?

Yes, Its an emulator that you use with the Xbox, but it needs to be chipped (see man above). Its pretty good imo.

You need a modded Xbrick.

If you must have console/pc compatability it's worth buying the X-arcade PCB. You could then use it to mod an SC2 stick, or build one yourself with nice Sanwa parts.

If anything, if there was a real problem with the X-Arcade then a mate of mine would not still use it. If people consider Saur to be "sick" for certain modern games, then he is the same for quite a lot of retro games. If the stick's that bad, god knows what he'd be like on something better

Having said that, I do believe he tightened the stick up a bit, which isn't hard to achieve...

I actually got to try it last year at CGE... whilst not as good as the Hori sticks I now have, it was far from the worst I've ever tried...
