    Wipeout Pure Downloadable Tracks?

Couldn't find the first play thread for this, although I'm sure there is one, so thought I would just ask the forum

I remember reading in Edge a while back that different designers had created tracks for this game which could be downloaded from the net. Does anybody have a linky for this, does it matter what region game you have? Are they worth it?

You just need to go to www.wipeoutpure.com and select your region. The packs are restricted by their region so what ones you can get depend on what copy of the game you have. Are they worth it? Absolutely but, if you have a UK copy, you'll have to put up with godawful Puma branding for the Delta pack. The flipside is that you'll also have the excellent Omega pack, which the other regions don't get.

OK downloaded a pack and its on my PSP memory card - now how do I access it in the game? >_< **** I have a Japanese copy in a PAL display box (Curse you GameFocus!!!), so Omega pack isn't working!!!

Do you have access to a wireless network point? You can access the downloads via the game and it makes the process a hell of a lot easier as it will only enable you to download the appropriate files for your specific version of the game.

Nope. And I'm not happy about it!

Japanese copy? Yep, Omega packs won't work. To make matters worse, you need to get wireless access to download the Japanese packs for some reason.

You have other options though. Firstly, there must be sites somewhere that have copies of the packs. There definitely were but that was quite some time ago and I'm not sure where they'd be. Check psp sites that have emulator stuff and whatnot and they might have them.

The other option is easier than it first appears. Go here - http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forum/sho...ight=downloads and read about halfway down the page, where a pic is posted. Using Firefox, you can make the JP Wipeout site think you're logging in from a PSP and get the files that way.

In terms of JP exclusives, you can look forward to hideous Coke branding (if you want it). The plus is that you can get the unbranded Delta pack, which is nicer than the UK Puma version.

Thanks man I shall look into this. Oh the crazy world of import video games...the one time its great to get the PAL version and I end up with the Japanese one! I bought cheap with no instructions in a PAL Display Box too so no chance of being able to trade the ****er! What as sucker!

http://pspupdates.qj.net/ has pretty much all the downloads you want or need, for all versions of the game.

i have the JPN version, and found it invaluable for getting the tracks and whatnot.

Hi Bingo is this the page that works for Japanese versions of the game?

Well that's missing most of the packs and actually those two Gamma packs were updated as their is a graphics access bug that causes menu crashes with those. You'll need to find somewhere that has the more recent versions.

It would seem that this will give me the updated version though right? I'll give it ago and see...

Ah, it comes up as Corupt Data - maybe you have to do this on a PC not a MAC. Enough anyways, cheers fellas but think I may go back to me DS (only playing, getting on-line with that is just as trifling!!).

                        *Sigh*

odd - that's the page i used, and everything is fine with me.

and i'm on a Mac as well - it shouldn't make any difference.

Didn't know whether to bump this or to start a new thread.

I'm looking to pick this up, but I'm not sure what region to get. I try and stick to US versions of everything where possible, but in this case it seems like it might not be the version to get.

Looking at the DLC, it seems to look like this:
                            • US Version - Gamma packs 1-3, Classic packs 1-3, Delta packs 1-2
                            • UK Version - Gamma pack, Delta pack, Classic packs 1-4, Omega packs 1-2
So that seems like a total of eight packs for each. Does that mean the content is the same across both regions and that the packs are just named differently (I'm not too bothered about branding, just the content in terms of tracks/vehicles etc...)?

Yes the content is the same - although you get more to play with in the UK version. Also, if you are going to play online with X-link Kai I would recommend getting the UK version as that is all that anybody plays

Wipeout Pulse is out in 8 days as well btw
