Can you force 50Hz PAL games into 60Hz with a Matrix Infinity modded PS2?

I know certain PS2 modchips have the feature to forceboot 50hz games into 60Hz. Just wondering if this was possible with the Matrix Infinity chip before I sell all my old PAL PS1 games and replace them with US versions.

Can't help with this specific issue (though I imagine it would, the Infinity even has Force VGA!), but you should replace your games anyway, as most (certainly all Square games) PAL Ps1 and 2 games have major syncronisation issues when forced into 60Hz.

DMS4 and O2 definately have Force NTSC and Force PAL60 functions, and I'd imagine Infinity does too.
The Crystal Chip and Ghost2 probably can, seeing as they are same gen mods.

My Slimline PS2 is modded with Matrix infinity, it DEFINITELY outputs PS2 games at 60hz forced mode. PS1 games only sync to the Hz on the disc (not the console). I've tried FFX PAL, Devil May Cry PAL, Tokyo Extreme Racer in force 60 Hz mode and they all work a treat. Newer games like Shadowhearts covenant crash in 60hz mode tho

This was with version 1.75 of the bios, as someone has mentioned it also outputs vga (not tested here). Best modchip on PS2 in my opinion.

Hope that helps - sorry its a bit garbled am high on cough medicine and paracetamol trying to get over a fever lol!

Do you have to press a button on the controller at boot up to force the PAL 50Hz PS2 game into 60Hz? Or does it do it automatically?

you have to change the settings in chip bios, just hold triangle and circle as soon as you turn on the ps2.

Is there any gain in forcing NTSC games in PAL60?
Does this only apply for games or also dvd's?

Btw, I got second-hand PS2 with Matrix Infinity chip, version 1.2 and I tried to get in the menu with Circle and Triangle but it doesn't work...

I figure I could try controller 2 or deplug the extension cable, or did the old versions have a different way of booting the menu?
