Ok, I've just got the above LCD, and overall I'm pretty pleased with it so far. One question though - the user manual makes a point on the first two pages of potential problems that can be caused by borders on sides / top + bottom of the screen. Now, when I play my PS2 through component (be it 50hz, 60hz or progressive) I'm greeted by small borders on the sides of the screen, no matter if I've set the TV/Game/PS2 options to 16:9.
If I understand correctly its something to do with upscaling/downscaling? I can deal with this, as its hardly the end of the world - but I've also read of some cases of "image persistence"on LCD's. So my question is, are these borders going to pose a significant problem if they're displayed for lengthy amounts of time? I've been told image persistence is temporary, but I?d rather not take any chances.
How long would these borders have to be shown to start causing problems? How long could I safely play for without risking persistence?
I'm pretty much an RPG gamer myself, so I'd be playing for pretty long periods of times each session.
This problem does not occur using RGB Scart connections - but the image quality is far off the component connections, so I'd rather not switch back.
Any insight would be appreciated.
