Metal Gear Acid 2/Solid Eye viewer: what's going on?

OK, I want to order MGA2, but...

VG+ are saying every copy ships with the viewer thing, but they're using the TOBIDAC!D name from the Konami website which I took as wordplay on 'to be decided' (as in, they haven't confirmed anything yet).

Despite being released something like 6 months ago in Japan I have never seen any impressions or pics of this thing - does it exist or not? Also when it was announced they stated it would be available in white and black to match your PSP, but VG+ are not making this distinction anywhere.. this puts me off pre-ordering as I'd want a white one if I had a choice.

Can anyone clear it up?

How can you get a hold on White PSP in the US? Sure, import from Japan, and if Snake Eye comes in two colors it is in Japan, not USA.

Fair enough but this thing doesn't seem to exist in Japan at all. Surely someone on here would have come across it in one way or another?

I learned from gamefaqs forums that the final version of the viewer is made of cardboard, which is disappointing, but maybe more realistic than the plastic one. I was wondering how they were claiming that it comes with each game and the online stores are not warning about extra package size or something. The cardboard thingy makes sense.

By the way, I read the cardboard is white coloured.
