    N64 expansion pack question

    Hi there.

Managed to finally get a hold of an official expansion pack today - but it came with no opening tool to get the jumper pack out with.

Is there any household implement I can remove the jumper pack with, safely, without damaging anything at all?

    Thanks in advance!

Years ago I did one successfully with the handle of a small teaspoon - go careful though

The thing with the expansion pack, is that even with the official tool, it feels like you're about to break it when you try to pry it out. Therefore, whilst being vigilant, don't be too worried if it feels like it's going to snap or something. At worst you'll break the jumper pack, which you won't need anyway since you've got the expansion pack :S

Note: Don't hold me to any of that.

Nah, its dead easy with a flat ended screwdriver.

Just pry the old thing out, I have done it dozens of times and the only damage I have ever caused is leaving a small mark on the N64, which the jumper pack over covers up anyway.

Ohh sounds pretty nasty. Im pretty clumsy with stuff like this.

Anyone else have any tips? Any kind soul want to lend me the opening tool so that I dont completely bust the machine, jumper pack and expansion pack in one fell swoop?

I used tweasers. Stuck one bit in the pack slot and the other on top. Easy. Alternatively, open the case using a game bit and when you pull the two halves apart, the jumper pack has no option but to come out.

I recommend two knives (cutlery not hunting) one at back one at front then gentely lever it out. The 'tool' is grim I broke mine first time I used it. Used the two knives method loads and it's never been a problem.

Take a Knife, just watch out you don't injure yourself off course
