BROKEN NEO GEO AES :( Please HELP !!!

    Hi ,

Someone on this forum (won't mention any names ! ) told me how to mod my UK PAL NEO GEO AES to 60hz by simply removing a resister from the board.
I did this but it only made the picture all scrambled and blocky
I resoldered the resister back in place but it is still the same

    Can anyone help me please?

I only bought this machine a month ago for ?150 and am really gutted about this.

Anyone got any ideas or know anyone who could fix it for me?

    Please HELP !!!!

    Many thanks,
    Chris

Im no expert but did you connect the two after taking out the resistor? I think it will still need to be connected.

Hi Lurch, I'm no expert either so I don't know, But I have now put the resister back in and its still the same Does anyone else know what I can do? Or know anywhere I could get it fixed?
If not I'm just gonna sell it as faulty for a cut price and regretably wash my hands with NEO GEO forever !

You are best asking on the neo-geo.com forums and hope jeff kurtz answers you as he is the neo techpert.

Apologies if I look like I'm trying to capitalise on your catastrophe but is the case unmarked if it is I'll have it off you.

On a more altruistic note, I know Raven are expensive but they do RGB jobs on Neo Geo's so maybe they could fix your board? Wouldn't it be worth it to stay in the AES club?

The AES does RGB out of the box.

but dependant upon the serial number some do it better than others, mines a V. high japanese one and has quite bad striping.
The point I was making was that they should know there way around the board.

Hi , Thanks for your comments.
I would indeed like to stay in the "NEO GEO CLUB" but I dont want to send it off unless im sure it can be fixed really.
How much would you give me for the machine mate? It is boxed and the console is in perfect condition. It has a low serial number i think.

The best thing to do would be to telephone Raven in the morning, explain what you've done and see what they say.

The telephone number for Raven is : 0208 663 6810
It must be worth just giving them a call to see what it would cost to put it right.
                          Hope you get it sorted.
