Digital Camera vs Video Camera

Hi Everyone!

I currently have a Sony digital camera that was bought around 3 years ago. At the time it was ?550 brand new. I love the camera and think it's great however the video clip facility isn't as good as I would like it.

The Sony digital video cameras can obviously make high quality videos but can they also take digital pictures? What I would like to know is if these pictures are any good compared to the camera I have now. What kind of resolution do they have. If anyone has one please let me know your thoughts.

Sorry to be so vague, but my mate just bought some top end ?1k sony DV camcorder. Takes excellent video (nightvision, too), takes pretty low res pictures (320x200 ish?).

You can email them to someone if you have a bluetooth phone near, if that's any consolation.
