I'm using the Farmer switcher as well. No major problems.

I had the farmer unit before this and that's also very good but I needed another few inputs.

I got the Farmer switchbox today from Play-Asia, and was disappointed to find that it does affect image quality.
        This is without the switch:

And this is with the switch:

As you can see, the switch has introduced green smearing on the text. Time to find a more expensive solution I think...

do you have any other leads near the box, esp power cords?
Also do you have a ps2 plugged in it? if so remove the power lead from the ps2 and see if that does anything.

No, nothing near the box and nothing but the Xbox 360 going into it.

Then surely a direct connection is better? 360-TV.
              Kept you waiting, huh?

That's what I'm going with for now, but I bought the switch to connect the 360 and a Wii to my single component input. Given the current situation with Wii component cables though, it might all be academic for quite a while!

                  No, it's a JVC 37DS6.

I would look round avforums for a Zektor, superb unit, the HDS4 and HDS4.2, they .2 version has a second buffered output for running longer runs to a projector, so many won't need that. But the HDS4 goes for around ?100, the nice thing is it is completely passice so even at 1080p there is no loss what so ever, also it works via remote, you teach it commands from your remote, so if you switch your amp between TV, PS2, GC etc. the Zektor switches with it, making it completely seemless in operation.

It also has analoge, digital and optical ins and will convert optical to digital too so just one cable back to you amp.

The Farmer box really softens the image, you get what you pay for, with 480p it is alright, just, but get to 720p and 1080p and it is useless.

The 'Joytech AV Control Centre 360' also contains an optical audio switcher and an ethernet switch.
