    startup logon

For some reason the accounts log on screen has started to come on when windows starts up. The one where u are requested to type in ur username and password. ive looked on user accounts in control panel but i cant find how to disable this feature. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Its under User Accounts in control panel, and "change the way users log on and off" - there should be the option to enable/disable users having to cntrl+alt+del to log on, and to enable fast user switching for if you share the PC. Having to log on is mandatory if you are in a domain though, if its a workgroup then its fine.

i tried it. Now instead of having the screen where u click on your account, i get the user name and password screen. like the ones you have at work. its strange, all this started after i had to restore my computer. the belkin customer support people got me to change certain things on the registry and using msconfig which messed up my downloading speeds so i restored my computer and this happened. im not on a domain. its a standalone comp.

Under "change the way users log on" in CP/user accounts, can you see the option to enable the "Welcome Screen" - tick that

Then try goto your own account and "remove my password" - see if that works.

typing CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 in the run box works too and disable it in there
