Taking screenshots from handhelds - photography tips

Could someone who has made their own website with screenshots please tell us how they manage to get screenshots lookin decent. Every shot I take of the GBA and DS with my digital camera has the screen as an impressionistic mass of colour. What do I need to do to get good screenshots?

    Anyone?

IIRC, your best bet to get sharpness when dealing with a handheld screen is to use the Macro function (for most cameras, the symbol for this would be one that looks like a small flower) - if you cycle through the focusing modes on your camera, there should normally be a macro setting.

With that, you can get nice and close to the screen without the focusing aspect going all screwy and ending up with, as you say, a mass of colour. Certainly helped me while I was recording emblem templates on MKDS :-P

Failing that, emulators might be a good bet if you're just after general shots.

Flash off. Darker corner but with enought light for it to focus properly. Macro setting.

[blue peter]Here's some I did earlier and tbh it looks great:

Ah, that's the kind of quality I am looking for.
