Help. Before today when I clicked on an mp3 link it would open media player and buffer it in and start playing while the rest downloaded. Now it waits to dowload the entire mp3 and then plays it in a quicktime embedded window. wtf. How do I stop this?

Deselect all your quicktime Filetype settings settings, it tries to take over everything (like real player) and is a pain in the arse, then associate MP3 with WMP again. I suppose you could go with system restore if it gets that bad, but its more than likely a tick missing from the right box.Comment

Yeh goto WMP Options and file types, the one for MP3 is probably grey meaning its shared with something else, disassociate QT and enable it solely for MP3, I did that and it opens up WMP now not QT.Comment

Quicktime does seems to be a bit rubbish, on Windows at least. When streaming audio for me in Firefox, I get all kinds of random screeches and noise.Comment

I love you. That worked a treat. and yes quicktime is evil. I've just got quicktime alternative and even that's pretty evil. (charlesr: spreading malicious rumours and lies since the dawn of er well quicktime).Comment
