    Xbox Live 'Rep'

So, how important is this Rep thing? I played a couple of games of the Battlefield 2 demo last night and when I finished I noticed that I now had a 100% score of being 'unsporting'? I could understand a rating of '**** at the game' as I did spend most of the time respawning but I can't imagine why someone thought I was unsporting.

I've never played Xbox Live before as online gaming has never really appealled to me but I thought I would at least try it out before my one month Gold trial expires (bought the 360 a couple of weeks ago for Oblivion).

So, how big a difference does the 'Rep' make and do you often get 'unfair' ratings on Xbox Live? Is Live only really worth it if you have a decent Friends list?

The Rep system never existed on the old Live network and now we have one it's open to abuse, because as you've experienced people can leave you bad rep feedback for no reason at all.

I think the problem is that a lot of people never leave positive ratings. You've probably been rated one time only, and that dude selected Unsporting for some reason! Don't worry about it.

Thanks for the replys. If it doesn't make that big a difference to getting a game then I'm not that bothered, I was just a bit annoyed since I wasn't the one driving over his team mates (I got run over a few times by my own side)!

Do you guys mainly play with random people on Live or stick to friends list matches? Does it depend on the game?

Depends on what I'm playing and when I'm playing it. If I'm online playing DOA4 (for example) and people on my friends list are also on and playing, I'd play against them first. Otherwise, I inflict myself on strangers
