    play-asia problems

im just wondering if anyone here has recently ordered a gamecube game from play-asia?

one that has a shipping period of 1 week specifically

i've ordered homeland, and it took 2 weeks to ship

i ordered metal gear solid twin snakes, a month later i cancelled the order

and im currently waiting on chibi-robo and killer7, which are just passing the 1 week limit

im not talking about the time it takes for it to arrive at my place, but the time it takes for play-asia to actually send it off

yeah... so just want to know if anyone else has had similiar problems, with any products from play-asia?

should i wait for them, or just not bother?

    thanks

I've ordered a lot less of Play-Asia since their anti-PSP policy. The last item i ordered was a DS Lite which took 6 days from submitting the order till it was in my hands. I call that pretty speedy, for items from HK that is.

remember there is the "Shipping and Arrivals" thread for lots of shipping info: http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/showthread.php?t=31776

I've ordered tonnes of stuff from PA and they almost always dispatch within 24 hours. It may just be that production of GameCube games has been dramatically reduced lately. Check the product description to see if they actually have the games in stock.

I've ordered games on a Friday and a game by the end of the following week, though as you say they can take longer. They have a great customer service section if you need to track anything or confirm dispatch.

I've ordered a lot less of Play-Asia since their anti-PSP policy.
That's actually Sony enforcing their rules on the Hong Kong exporters, rather than any anti-PSP poilcy. As far as I'm aware anyway...

Sometimes they have problems getting certain gamecube games so they go over their 1 week shipping estimate.

Its happened to me quite a few times. I think they only keep in stock the most popular stuff.

Id fire them a email and ask what the hold up is.

On aother note you bought homeland YAAAAY what great taste in games you have (^_^).

Im working on a guide for that as we speak.

Bought a Sega Virtua Stick from them recently, and it was shipped within 24 hours (though I've not received it yet, so...) I've bought a few other bits from them in the past, with good results.

Had loads the past few weeks. PA rock to be honest.

I find them inconsistent - I'm still waiting on something that was posted on March 24th (prolly nabbed by customs), but on the flip side, a DC game I ordered last week only took 3 or 4 days.

I order from Play Asia quite a lot (have a Jap X360 so I have to import most games) and I haven't had a problem with them so far. I always use the airmail delivery method, and nothing has taken more than just over a week to get here yet. Managed to getting nabbed by customs each time too.

I used yesasia.com for japanese games now due to lower price, slightly quicker delivery and no import duty.

                    Had no trouble with them.

I recently got a DC game from PA, and it came in like 4 days, but my Wavebird that i ordered before took like 2 weeks. I've also just ordered a copy of Children of Mana, and that's been in the post for about 4 days now, wonder how long it'll take.

duh... of course i have great taste

anyway... i emailed them and i get the same standard, "we can't confirm availability", then they adjust the shipping date, and that still goes by and nothing

so, err.... i could be waiting a while

as long as i know it's coming, then i dont mind the wait

but in the end i could be waiting an indefinite amount of time for something that won't even come

just like any other company PA don't know if a title has become harder to get since their previous whole-sale order for that title. the usually ships in X-TIME means exactly that...that they expect to ship within that time. But like pointed out earlier sometimes games get out of stock at their main supplier. Then they actually try to find another suplier to deliver the game but when a game has gone out of print it could be a while be for it comes back in stock. PA really do their best to fufill your order.

I've placed over 10 seperate orders this year alone and I couldn't be happier with PA. recently ordered the official ps2 component cable along with some other stuff. it took a few days longer than expected for the component cable to arrive at their warehouse so they shipped my other items and 2 days laters they shipped my component cable.

That's what PA says, yes. though their competition in the form of YesAsia and Lik-Sang can ship psp titles to Europe and the other countries that have shipping restriction imposed upon them. When I inquired about that they didn't respond. Well they send the standard reply that I was reacting to.
