It's ok. Btw, do the intsruction books differ from the originals in this collection, or have they been rehashed?

Mine should arrive today or tomorrow so I'll have a looksee if it's the DC or not.

            That's sucky.

I guess I'll keep my Xbox copy then.

The originals may well go down in price as a result of the collection being released. So if that turns out to be the case, it might be better to track down the originals instead, eh?

The 'Director's Cut' is no different from the Xbox version. It was just a Platinum re-release that included the Maria sidequest from the Xbox version, which the original PS2 version didn't have.

They also cheekily took the blurb from the back of the Xbox version, leading the punters to believe it had 'enhanced lighting effects'. Not true!

Yeah, I know; I'm saying I'll keep my Xbox version because the Collection set has the non Cirector's Cut version in it.

That's a shame it isn't the Director's Cut version - I only realised yesterday that I lent my platinum edition to a guy who has now moved away. I still have my original version but I feel a little incomplete without it...

Are the originals still around as single games?

Makes it all a slightly worthless purchase if your still a piece missing, even if it may not be that significant.

You can pick them up second hand, but even here in Brighton where we have a bewildering amount of games shops, they're not ultra-prevelant.

You do see them about though.

Don't see why they couldn't bung in the PS1 version too. Not really a collection if you don't have the whole collection, right?

They could've stuck the 'uncut' version of Silent Hill 1 in - I would've bought it then. Sadly, the cash with which I might have helped Konami keep a foothold in the UK market will be spent on budget wine instead.

I mean, Cash Generator regularly gets 2 & 3 in at less than a fiver and 4 is usually no more than 6 quid pre-owned if you're prepared to look around.

Yeah I suppose it's a shame they didn't go all out but I suppose it's probably still good for the people who will now see the film and want to know what the series is about. I'm still holding out hope for a soundtrack complete box set and fancy glossy art book. The OSTs are so incomplete,
