    PSP charge problem

My PSP has stopped charging. The battery ran out last night during some Outrun, so I plugged in the AC adapter and continued playing. Everything seemed fine and I left it charging overnight. Today I try to power it up and nothing happens. I put the AC back in and it turns on, but battery information says:
    Charge Level 0%
    Hours Left -
    Power Source External
    Battery Status Charge Complete

Do I need a new battery? This is a JPN launch unit, and I don't use it very much at all. I'm guessing the batteries have a life-cycle, but I'm sure it should last longer than this.
    I'd appreciate any help.
    Thanx.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

battery should still be fine, I charge mine daily via USB and have had no trouble, sounds like an IT Dept. answer but you removed the battery, cleaned, checked connections are all OK etc ?

I've found out that this is a known problem with PSP batteries. Apparently you should not let it run out completely. Supposedly if you do experience what I have you should leave the battery out of the unit for a few days and it should sort itself out. Mine still isn't functioning, and is "fully charged" after like 3 minutes. I'm going to leave it until Monday now and see if that doesn't help. Otherwise I'll get me one of those new 2200 mAh ones.

I never let mine run out, just top it up daily via USB, prehaps that's something you should do in future if that's the case.
