Shall I get rid of my PS2 (recently got an Xbox360)

    Hi fellahs,

    Im in a pickle.

I recently lost all my willpower and ended up buying an Xbox 360 (well, i stuck it on my credit card and maxed it out)

The thing is, i am finding the games that i have to be REALLY REALLY good (kameo, condemned, GRAW, Oblivion, call of duty 2) and im wondering if i'll ever go back to the PS2, as there doesnt seem to be much more coming out for it in the future.

Could any 360 owners tell me if they still play on their 'last generation' consoles after getting the XBOX.

Basically, im in the honeymoon period and thinking of ditching my old love - the PS2 to spend more time with the mistress 360 (if that makes sense)

any feedback would be really helpful.

    Cheers guys.

    Matt

Well if you intend to get a PS3 and can't see yourself playing the PS2 in the meantime it's probably best to get rid of it now while you can get a reasonable amount for it. Then you can keep the games you like and continue to play them on the PS3.

The only time I have touched my PS2 since I got my 360 is to play Guitar Hero, and i'll use it again for Okami (when it comes out anyway). Apart from that, I can't see it getting much more use. It will soon be demoted to the cupboard!

So, to answer your question - might as well sell it!

        Personally I've hardly touched my PS2 since I got a 360.

The last time I played it, I was shocked at how cheap and nasty the joypad felt compared to the 360's, and the graphics looked terrible on my LCD screen (not really the PS2's fault though).

Saying that, unless you really need the money, it might be worth hanging on to it just in case. You never know when you might get the urge to play some of the old games again, and you probably wouldn't get a great deal for it if you sold it (unless you've got tons of games to sell off too).

I've got a 360 but I just bought a PS2 so I can play the Taito and Capcom packs. Damn you MS for not making the Xbox ones backwards compatible

All I can tell you is this : I haven't turned my PS2 on since I got a 360...in fact I almost boxed it up the other day...haven't even turned the power on, had to move the TV for a new carpet and didn't even bother rewiring it.

Mine's chipped so I may try and sell it while it's worth anything...

if its pal get rid if its jap keep it, there is too many decent shooters and fighters on the jap ps2 to ignore, if you get rid you will want to come back to it.

If it is a modded one, keep it, but if it a plain PAL PS2 might be worth doing. I wouldn't sell my PS2 despite being crap on HDTV.

Its not modded, just a plain ol' slimline pal version.

My plan is to take it to CEX/Gamestation and trade it in for either money or some 360 games.

                        Most probably the latter!

You'll easily get that, I got about 70 quid for my slim PS2 from CEX in Newcastle and a bit more for the couple of games I sold too and a mem card. I got about ?100 just for that.

Tell me something, just what 360 games are you guy's playing? Because there's only 3/4 games on the 360 worth getting just now. I haven't touched my 360 for a while now due to the games dry up. I've reverted back to my (so called) older consoles as there's much more to play!

I would sell it mate (only for a decent price) - i have just sold my ps2 (modded), after playing games like oblivion, condemned, Football manager etc on the 360, i just could not bring my self to play the ps2

but saying that, depens on how much you get - if you have a ps2 & at least 10games i would accept no lower than 100quid depending on what you have, but if you get offers of like 50,60,70quid then i would keep it.
