Backwards Compat - US Xbox Games on JP Xbox360

Does anyone know of, or have comfirmed if any US Xbox games will play on a Japanese Xbox360?

Yeah thanks for that .. but I read many pages of that thread, and none of them answered my question - Will they play on a Japanese Xbox 360.

Not being a software engineer for Microsoft, I am not sure if, region free or not, Xbox games will run which aren't on the official "list".

If the game is region free I'm pretty sure it will do , the file that you download and burn to the CD on the XBOX.com site is exactly the same from whichever region you download it from . I'm pretty sure they contain all the same files.

I don't think MS would willingly block region free games from the list.

I've tried a couple of region free games (Fable US & Halo 2 Asia/ ntsc-j) on my PAL 360 and they both worked fine so I don't think you'll have any probs.

Sorry if i missed something really obvious, but seriously I searched here and everywhere for definitive info on this, and either it has been buried by the sands of time, or it was right under my nose, and I missed it.
