coverting video to psp

despite being ****e at anything computer related i found this surprisingly easy i downloaded psp video 9, and coverted video files to that. However i find that even video files that are only about 20 seconds long are taking up about 4000kb, is that right or is there a way to compress the file to a smaller size? Also how much space would an average movie take? Thanks for any replies

average lenght movies tend to be around 350-450mb, but that all depends on the settings you use, you can get em smaller but have to sacrifice sound bit-rate and image quality..
