Slim PS 2 - multi region DVD?

What are the options for making my Japanese PS 2 slimline play region one DVDs?

Are there any boot discs / memory card or USB devices that will work or will I need to resort to chipping the machine.

I only want multi region DVD playback, the ability to use US and UK discs or backups are unimportant.

Regarding the Action Reply V2.

PlayAsia technical support do not know if DVD playback works over a componant connection - product details only mention its use with RGB scart.

Can anyone confirm that R1 DVDs will work with componant.

Just thought I'd let you know, it's impossible to play PAL DVD movies on an NTSC machine. Even on a proper modded machine - they've altered the framebuffer so there's not enough space for a PAL frame. Just in case you were planning to.

I should think Component works though - all PS2's from V9 onward support Prog. Scan for DVD movies after all.

Okay I got the Action Reply 2 V2 disc for use in a SCPH 7500.

Anyone have the codes for DVD driver 3.11 J

I suppose the codes will be the same for users of DVD Region X.

The Codejunkies website draws a blank.
