DS Wi-Fi Problem

Got Animal Crossing today which is the first wireless game I've bought.

Tried to set my DS up for Wi-Fi access via my router but it just won't have it. I have a Netgear D834G which after searching the forum seems to work for other people. There's nothing wrong with it: its working with all my other wireless gadgets.

The little signal strength icon on the DS seems to indicate its not detecting any signal at all. Which seems strange to me.

Anyone got any clues?

It might need a firmware upgrade, i know a few people have had to do this to get it to work.

any options in the user interface to turn off turbo mode or slowdown the connection to 2mbit/sec? I know thats useless for other devices but it sometimes causes the DS to communicate as the rate is usually too high.

thats the case with my gay belkin anyway, and I still have to ping flood it to get myself online with the ds via a static ip.. lame

but yeah, firmware is a good place to start *nod*
