When I boot my PC up, the tool bar at the bottom of the screen (with the Start menu etc on) isn't loading nine times out of ten. Anyone got any idea why this might be and suggest remedies?

Does it load up when you go into safe mode? What happens if you kill explorer.exe, and then rerun it again? If safe mode works fine, try disabling everything in MSCONFIG that begins in Startup and see if its one of those things. -
