    Firefox 1.5.0.3 Macromedia Download Problem

    Please can you help?!

I've just upgraded to Windows XP and Firefox 1.5.0.3 from 1.0.7, but when I try to download Flash and Shockwave plug-ins I get this error:

    Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at fpdownload.macromedia.com.
    • Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com

    • If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.

    • If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
    The links are:
    Flash: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flash...lash_player.exe
    Shockwave: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shock...taller_Slim.exe

I use a Linksys WRT54GS router and never had these sorts of problems with my Linksys BEFSR41 and Windows ME.

    Any ideas?

Goto here and see what (if any) version you have installed - http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/

Mine is working fine, despite those links which dont work for me either in FF, only IE.

Both of those links are from the Firefox compatible version's Download Now button on Adobe's web site.

I got the up to date Flash plug-in from Download.com, but I believe the version of Shockwave they have is slightly older than on Adobe's web site.

Seems like the issue above is fixed now, as the standard update method works fine for me now.
