Laptop help needed

im using my sister laptop and i noticed that she had a massive amount of things loading up on stat up so i ran msconfig and was unmarking a few boxes when window just shut down, i tried it again and did the same, i also tried installing some anti virus software and that did the same thing, shut the window down after about 10 - 20 seconds. i put service park 2 on and its still doing the same thing.

any ideas as to whats wrong with it?

Boot into safe mode and see if it does the same thing - press F8 whilst Windows starts to load.

sounds like a virus to me, you need to try and run AVG Free (antivirus program), and running Adaware (spyware removal program) wouldn't go amiss either.

thanks for the help guys, tried safe mode and it was fine in that, installed my virus scanner and its picking up loads of viruses so im guessing it was that, hope it solves it.
