    Best place to pre-order Wii

Which is the best place to order a Wii?
I am trying to avoid GAME as they usually force you to buy their bundles.
I want to try Dixons again, as that is where I got my 360 and i had no problems. But I don't know if they will take pre-orders for one.

I also don't want to try the internet, as many other people will also be using those sites so I have less chance of getting one at launch :P
If i have to, i will use the internet.

But are there any other places that I should check out?

(I am not pre-ordering a Wii yet, but I want to know where I should pre-order from before I do it in a couple of months.

The Wii isn't going to be HD, so to ensure 60Hz, you'll need to get an NTSC one.

How easy it's to mod your Wii will determine whether I wait for people to figure it out, or just sod it and get a US one (and then a Japanese later for anything unique there).
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

With all the 60hz support on the GC surely it'll be the same if not better with the Wii? Are we gonna still have progressive scan option is what Im wondering, please let my GC component cable be compatible with this bloody thing!!!

I was about to ask the same question, although with a view to pre-ordering the japanese version. Are any import sites offering this for pre-order yet?

I will 100% be buying a USA Wii. I can't speak Japanese but there will prob be a few unique games released there but i gotta go with a USA one.
Maybe there will one day be a simply mod for the USA Wii to enable Jap games, much like the GC/N64.

You would have to be INSANE to by a PAL Wii. INSANE!!!

Nintendo EU are just about the most inept company in the whole world. They will probably lie again saying "This time intervals between Jap, USA, and EU release date will be shorter with more software being release" yaddyadda. Bull****, they said that recently with the DS and that was a big fat lie.

I'm going to get a USA one. I don't know much about step downs though. I've never used one. I use a UK PSU on my Switchable US/Jap cube and my PS2 is modded.
So i might need some help with this matter.

                Import Wii all the way.

I don't see any point in importing a 360 though. Got a PAL one.

also from looking at the official site - http://wii.nintendo.com/hardware.html

"An AV Multi-output port for component, composite or S-video."

i've seen pics of the back of the machine and it looks like it has 1 AV out so the GC component cable won't work. Need to get a new one.

Also i think it will be again be doubtful that the USA model does RGB out but this don't matter to me. I'll be using component.

I'm tempted to import a US one but I don't want to miss out on the downloadable content, surely a US Wii won't be able to connect to the service from the UK?

Why not? Xbox live works, PS2 onlinegamingwhatever works, so I don't see why the Wii wouldn't work!

I'm gonna be getting a US one too, since they're obviously gonna be getting it before us, and I need a Zelda hit like a cold turkey junkie needs to shoot up.

Really? Thats awesome news, I just assumed that if they can be bothered to region check games then they'd definitely check that your machine is in the right region. Anyway, US Wii it is then

I should of been specific >_>

Where in the UK is a good place to import?

I would get a Japanese or an American Wii, however my friends (Who I play games with often) will be getting a UK one, and it would be too much hassle bringing my Wii and games because it is a different region one.

For pre-orders, if you're sure you want a PAL one, you'd be best off with GAME I guess. Doubt the price will differ at all between different places. Wouldn't touch a PAL Ninty console myself though.
