    Networking a HDD

Is there anyway to connect an external hard-drive to my wireless router, allowing me to wirelessly access it?

You can connect it to your PC which can be accessed so long as its on, but would need to buy a NAS (network attached storage) external drive which would run independantly of a PC in order to achieve what you want.

No way of doing it with a normal USB harddrive?

Not so far as I am aware, a standard USB external drive (ie non-NAS) wouldnt have the TCP/IP configuration requirements that would be needed for this. If such a thing exists, then Ive not seen it, network attached storage is the only way I know of tbh.

After ages of googling just now, the only thing I found was this.

          Sounds pretty nifty.

Id rather not have a big tower PC in my room. Its the only reason I got a laptop instead of a PC.
