    Copying audio tapes to cd

Basically the old man wants to transfer some of his old audio tapes to cd. We have a cassette player, pc, soundcard, leads etc.

What's a good program to use? He wants one which lets you digitise the analogue signal, as well as numerous other options and parameters...such as volume, creating track breaks (so it doesn't transfer as 1 continual track) etc. Anyone got any advice on a good program to use? Preferably a free one with simple controls.

    Cheers all.

You could use something as simple as the sound recorder built into windows.

Save each recording as a wave file which will equal 1 track, then use Nero or windows media player to burn them to CD.

Doesn't Nero have a dedicated option for this?

        Edit: Yes it does: http://www.nsftools.com/misc/TapeToCDNero.htm

          And thanks again, that's superb.

(I hardly ever use nero so wouldn't have known. Clonecd backs up all my cd games for me just fine..and that's all the copying I ever do!)
