    Playstation Emulator

Hiya, having just got hold of some Final Fantasy goodness i thought I'd try this emulation on a PC but i tried epsxe to no avail, just soo complicated, and just ends up with a blank screen, is there something better thats good for idiots like me to set up by like jsut double clicking on the icon please?

It was FF 9 I was running btw in case that matters

Yeah VGS (Virtual GameStation) runs on software emulation and replicated the original psx resolution and is near 100% compatible with all softs, used it for years. If you need help pm me up.

If I remember correctly, PCSX was good. However I could be thinking of epsxe.

I think ePSXe is the best if you have enough time to tweak the settings and configure all the plugins to work to perfection. But, I totally agree with you that setting all that up is a complete pain in the ass!

There's a relatively new emulator called pSX emulator - incredibly original name - that has excellent compatability and works straight out of the .zip file. I've recently been using it to play a bit of symphony of the night and it's been working a treat. It might be worth a go!

Just tried that pSX emu myself and is very impressive indeed. It's far more simple than most others and seems quite user friendly, just click and go really.

ePSXe is regarded as the best, most compatible PlayStation emulator. VGS and Bleem are long-since outdated

Thats what I'm using resonance, original PAL versions of FF 6 & 9

The PAL version of FF9 has some sorta extra protection included on the disc (I think), can't remember what exactly. I think in ePSXe there's an option under CDROM menu to get around this, but it's been so long since I've used the program I can't remember what.

The USA version of FF9 works fine though, I know that much - just the PAL version that's fiddly.
